classes and workshops

Want to learn how to arrange flowers from your garden? Or maybe create a succulent garden? Or just want to have a fun night our with girlfriends? Stow Greenhouses offers a selection of classes that teach design techniques using local flowers and plants.

Classes are for all experience levels unless otherwise noted. All floral materials, supplies and a container are included with every class and participants take home their finished arrangements.

Classes are taught in a variety of locations and by Barbara Rietscha unless otherwise noted. We also do private classes so contact us if interested in booking one. Check back often as we continually add classes.


Floral Design at Phineas Wright House (Bolton, MA)

Phineas Wright House will be hosting two Floral Design Workshops in the Barn with Barbara Rietscha of Field & Vase by Stow Greenhouses. The workshops will feature dahlias and be held on:

  • September 20th (SOLD OUT)

floral design workshop at bully boy distillers

Thistle surely be a great Thursday night! Bully Boy Distillers will be hosting its first ever flower arranging class with Field & Vase in its beautiful Barrel Room. This intimate setting will allow guests to sip floral cocktails from stemmed glassware while arranging fresh-cut stems amongst aging spirits. Barbara from Field + Vase will provide flowers fresh from the farm, plenty of instruction on how to make an enviable floral arrangement, and a funky vase for each guest. Tickets also include artisinal small bites from Max's Ultimate Catering in addition to two unique and floral-inspired cocktails from the Bully Boy Tasting Room bar. This experience is intended only for those over the age of 21.

Seasonal Craft Workshop

The Kitchen at Boston Public Market

The Seasonal Craft Workshop is a series of hands-on floral design classes. Each class features locally grown, seasonal, and fresh-cut flowers artfully chosen so each participant can create their own unique and lovely bouquet. Attend one class or all three.

Join us to learn the basic techniques of floral design, color composition and care instructions. While you design your arrangement, you will be treated to a wine tasting of three different wines by Alan Howarth of the Massachusetts Wine Shop. You will also sample cheeses from local Massachusetts farms, compliments of Appleton Farms.
